The North East London NHS Foundation Trust was established on 5 June 2000 and it became operational on 1 April 2001. Becoming an NHS Foundation Trust in 2008. NELFT provides an extensive range of integrated community and mental health services for people living in the London boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest and community health services for people living in the south west Essex areas of Basildon, Brentwood and Thurrock. The Trust provides an Emotional Wellbeing Mental Health Service for children and young people across the whole of Essex. The Trust is also the provider of all age eating disorder services and child and adolescent mental health services across Kent and Medway.


The NELFT provides a range of specialist mental health services, and community based health services. Services include specialist treatment for people experiencing acute mental illness, help for children and young people with emotional, behavioural or mental health difficulties and care for people with dementia. The trust also provides support for people with problems associated with drug and alcohol misuse.

The people outside the UK believe that the capital's transport system is one of the safest and most efficient public transport networks in the world.

The traditional food in London is renowned for being delicious with a wide variety of choices. The City has numerous eateries, restaurants and pubs that serve a mix of cuisines ranging from Mexican tortillas, Italian pastas, Indian Kebabs, Chinese dishes and even Japanese Sushi.

Fish and chips are a delicious iconic dish, that consists of batter-coated, fried fish and chips. This delightful yet straightforward meal originated in England and has become one of the most famous London dishes. It is best served hot and is eaten as a main course however, you can find it as a take-away snack from food stalls around London.

The English Breakfast is one of the best London foods, and many cafes and pubs serve it throughout the day.


London is welcoming of everyone and anyone. It represents the cosmopolitan world. The 'Big Smoke' as it is referred to is home to more than 270 nationalities and 300 languages. British people are renowned for being polite and hospitable. The British people are especially polite and helpful, so don't be shocked if you hear a few too many 'Thank you', 'Please' and 'Sorry'.
