Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest trusts in the North West, England. The Trust provides physical as well as mental health services to more than 11 million people, also offers specialist inpatient and community services that support;

Mersey Care is also one of only three UK trusts with high-security mental health facilities. Mersey Care pledges to provide "perfect care." Mersey Care clinical services are available at over 100 locations throughout the North West. A corporate team situated in Kings Business Park, Prescot, and Hollins Park, Merseyside, supports the company's services.


Merseyside is a metropolitan and ceremonial county in northwest England, with a population of 1.38 million. It is surrounded by metropolitan areas centred on both banks of the lower reaches of the river Mersey Estuary. Merseyside also comprises five metropolitan boroughs:

  • Knowsley

  • St Helens

  • Sefton

  • Wirral and 

  • The city of Liverpool

Merseyside, which was formed in April 1974, takes its name from the River Mersey and sits within the historic counties of Lancashire and Cheshire.


There are around 20 primary schools including, the Centre for Research in Primary Science & Technology - a major national & international centre for research in Primary Science. And approximately 30 schools for secondary education. Merseyside also has nine colleges and two major universities, which are the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moors University.

Annual leave entitlement: Full-time employees are entitled to the following allowance plus bank holidays each year

  • 27 days 

  • 29 days after five years

  • 33 days after ten years' service.

Purchasing of annual leave is also available on request.
